All-on-4® Treatment Concept
A Complete Smile Makeover
At Balaci Oral and Facial Surgery in Lebanon, PA, we offer our patients a unique treatment for restoring an entire upper or lower arch of teeth called the All-on-4 treatment concept. This type of full-arch restoration procedure restores complete function and appearance to your smile. All-on-4 treatment concept is the full-arch restoration system designed by Nobel Biocare™, a leading manufacturer of world-class implant-based systems. Our practice proudly offers these top-line products to our patients for lasting and beautiful results.
Rather than replacing teeth with a removable denture or many individual implants, our oral surgeons can place four specialized dental implants in one or both dental arches. These implants attach to a fixed prosthesis and fully restore an entire arch of beautiful white teeth. If you have many missing or failing teeth, or are looking for a way to makeover your entire smile, contact Balaci Oral and Facial Surgery today for a consultation with Dr. Balaci or Dr. Murphy in Lebanon, PA.
The Benefits of All-on-4 Treatment Concept
This procedure offers significant cost savings and numerous benefits over traditional dentures or removable oral appliances. These benefits include:
Restore Function
The dental implant posts act as teeth roots, providing stability for the prosthesis. This allows you to enjoy your favorite food without worrying about damaging a bridge or partial, and without having to take out dentures during meals.
Protect the Jaw Bone
The jaw bone relies on stimulation from teeth roots during chewing to remain strong. When teeth are missing or when cosmetic solutions like dentures, bridges, or partials are used, it lacks this stimulation and weakens. Over time, the jaw bone will deteriorate. The dental implants that secure the prosthesis will provide the jaw bone with the stimulation it needs to remain strong and healthy.
Fast Treatment Time
This treatment provides one of the quickest restoration times possible. In most cases, your procedure can be completed in just one or two surgical visits. This reduces the post-surgical recovery time and discomfort and ensures that you are chewing, speaking, and smiling again immediately after your surgery.
State-of-the-Art System
All-on-4 treatment concept utilizes minimally invasive techniques for implant placement, and the implants fully support the weight and function of the replacement set of teeth.
Long-Term Results
All-on-4 treatment concept provides the highest ratio of implant-to-bone contact since it anchors implants at an angle. This ensures that the replacement teeth are adequately secure and supported for guaranteed longevity.
All-on-4 Treatment Concept Candidacy
If you have lost or are on the verge of losing your entire upper or lower arch of teeth, you may be eligible to receive this complete smile restoration. Many patients who do not qualify to receive other prosthesis options, such as a fixed bridge or individual implants, are still candidates to receive this treatment. At Balaci Oral and Facial Surgery, we want to ensure that you receive the prosthesis that is right for your mouth, and we will explore all of your options for tooth replacement.
All-on-4 Treatment Concept Procedure
Prior to the procedure, you will meet with an oral surgeon and we will take 3D scans of your mouth and face. We will discuss your options for anesthesia, although most patients undergo IV sedation for this procedure.
On the day of surgery, we will administer the anesthesia and extract any remaining teeth in the dental arch. Your oral surgeon will insert the implant posts and attach your new secure, custom-made arch of teeth if it was made ahead of time. If not, we will attach a temporary prosthesis to wear until your final one is ready. You will leave our office with a healthy, brand new smile that you can immediately enjoy.
Tooth Replacement Options
There are numerous options to consider when replacing missing or failing teeth. If you are in need of restoring many, full-arch restoration is the ideal solution because it fully restores one or both dental arches. If you are in need of only a few replacement teeth, single dental implants may be right for you.
Removable options like dentures, bridges, or partials only sit on top of the bony ridge in the mouth, whereas dental implants integrate with the jaw bone. This integration prevents the jaw bone from deteriorating due to tooth loss. With removable solutions, you’re at a higher risk of jaw bone atrophy, which can lead to costly bone repair surgery down the road.
While removable options may be cheaper upfront, you must replace them every few years. Dental implants and fixed prostheses through full-arch restoration do not require replacement. After your surgical visit, your new smile is ready for use and you can enjoy eating your favorite foods, laughing, and living with confidence again.
Types of Anesthesia
The anesthesia or sedation method used for your surgery is dependent on the type of procedure being performed as well as your personal preference. Some types can be combined for stronger sedation.
